In the view of the Hungarian Europe Society, in the 21st century’s changed world, it is essential for the Republic of Hungary to establish a foreign policy strategy reflecting the country’s international political ambitions.
We welcome the news that at the meeting of the European Council the political leaders of the member states succeeded in reaching an agreement about the institutional issues of high relevance. Two years after the deadlock of the constitutional process, we now strongly believe that following the Reform Treaty the European Union regains its confidence and be able to increase its activities.
Örömmel fogadtuk a hírt, hogy az Európai Tanács ülésén a tagállamok vezetőinek sikerült megegyezniük a kulcsfontosságú intézményi kérdésekről. Két évvel az alkotmányozási folyamat megrekedése után most komolyan bízhatunk abban, hogy a reformszerződés nyomán az Európai Unió visszanyeri önbizalmát és növelni tudja cselekvőképességét.

Csodálkozással és megrökönyödéssel fogadtuk Medgyessy Péter miniszterelnök 2004. február 16-án az országgyűlésben elhangzott értelmetlen, antidemokratikus és populista indítványát, amelyben a magyar parlamenti pártok közös európai parlamenti választási listájának felállítására tett javaslatot.
A Magyarországi Európa Társaság elítéli a Budapest központjában napok óta zajló erőszakos cselekedeteket, az utcai randalírozást és a közintézmények elleni támadásokat.
