Winners

The Hungarian Europe Society and its partners - as part of the 'EUritage' consortium led by WiseEuropa, a Warsaw-based think-tank - announced an essay competition for Hungarian high school and university students in March 2020. Following the decision of the jury, the winner of the competition became Máté Bozóky with his paper and the second place was given to Nadia Taylor Sol for her shirt writing.

To the Attention of Jean-Claude Juncker

The Hungarian Europe Society sent an open letter to the President of the European Commission on 5 May 2017 concerning the communication of the Commission on the so-called national consultation "Stop Brussels" initiated by the Hungarian government. HES supports the efforts of the European Commission but has elaborated its suggestions how Hungarian citizens might be reached in order to understand the position of the Commission on European issues which are totally misinterpreted by the Orbán government.

On the Introduction of the Euro in Hungary: Let’s Stick to 2010!

The Hungarian Europe Society observes the indecisiveness of the Hungarian government with increasing concern: the “floatation” of the introduction of the euro, already postponed once before and, then, set for 2010; as well as the populism that is simultaneously gaining ground in politicians’ fiscal policy rhetoric in a threatening way.
