Thank you for all the three high-level papers and the great arguments elaborated by the authors. I remember that the debate about Europe's role in security and defense has been with us for a long time. European sovereignty might be a new expression and I find it very convincing especially in contrast to national (member state) claims as well as in many territories of the global competition, but less in case of the transatlantic cooperation. Actually, I am not so sure that some differences between Hajnalka's concept on European autonomy the one side and the challenging views by Thibault and Charles are really so contradictory. Perhaps the rhetoric and the starting points are not the same, but at the end the disired level in the international relationship between the US and the EU is quite similar. All the three agree in the main tasks of the transatlantic alliance regarding the future as well as the threats to a renewed international liberal order that will be different to the old one we remember before the Trunp era. Still, details and parts of a new construction are important and how to create a reliable and strong north-atlantic liberal-democratic force based on mutual trust needs to be dicussed - and to be implemented.
