The Citizen, Power and Democracy in Europe’s Crisis

Bartha Attila, a member of the Hungarian Europe Society was a discussant and made a brief presentation entitled „European Experts versus Populist National Elites? Reinventing the European Project with Active Citizens” at the Václav Havel European Dialogues Prague Conference (21-22 February, 2014). The conference was organized by the Václav Havel Library, with the participation of leading European academich researchers, politicians from the Czech Republic and other EU member states representing their national parliaments and the European Parliament, leading Czech journalists, intellectuals, and young civic activists involved in European debates.

"Austerity, solidarity, stability? How economic and monetary union affects the new member states"- The annual round table debate of the CEU Jean Monnet Chair in cooperation with the Hungarian Europe Society and the Center for European Union Research (CEUR) took place on 30th November 2012.
At the traditional annual workshop on 27 December 2013 organised by HES, members of the Society held presentations.
