András Dezső, journalist at HVG and author of two bestsellers was the guest at a Hungarian Europe Society zoom event on 24 February 2021. Talking about mafia networks and the iconic organised criminal actors in the nineties in Hungary, as well as the history of cocaine trade and consumption, he also analysed the ambiguous relationship between the political sphere, the police and the underworld.

András Arató (Dorothy Hart Hirshon Professor in Political and Social Theory in the Sociology Department at the New School for Social Research) gave an online presentation entitled “A liberális demokrácia jövője - régi és új identitások” to HES members on 19 October 2021.
On 3 January 2020 members of the Hungarian Europe Society discussed the report entitled "Tyranny and Hope" as well as the political situation in Hungary at their traditional annual meeting.
On 7 July 2020 the Guarini Institute for Public Affairs at John Cabot University, in collaboration with The Ohio State University and the Hungarian Europe Society, held a online panel discussion on the topic "Pandemic in Central and Eastern Europe".
