On 28 December 2016, HES held its traditional annual workshop where HES members made presentations to HES members. The following lectures were given at the event: Ernő Simon (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees): Better Protecting Refugees in the EU and Globally, Petra Jeney (European Institute for Public Administration): Some Legal Aspects of Brexit from an EU Perspective, Attila Bartha (HAS Centre for Social Sciences Institute for Political Science): Can Populist Economic Policy Be Successful? 

The Hungarian Europe Society held an international conference supported by the Friedrich Naumann Stiftung für die Freiheit entitled "European Elections 2019 - Renewing the Political Agenda for a United Europe" on 12-13 April 2019 at the Ibis Styles Budapest Center (Rákóczi út 58, H-1074 Budapest).
Cas Mudde (University of Georgia's School of Public and International Affairs) made a presentation entitled "Populism in East and West" on 11 June 2018.
András Dezső, journalist at HVG and author of two bestsellers was the guest at a Hungarian Europe Society zoom event on 24 February 2021.
On 19 September Benjamin De Cleen, assistant professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel gave a presentation entitled "Populism, nationalism and the radical right in Belgian politics" in Brussels.
