On 16 May 2013 István Hegedűs represented HES in an expert meeting in the Independent Journalism Centre in Budapest. The participants discussed the recommendations of the high-level group established by the European Commission on media freedom and pluralism.

On 14 June 2013 Hungarian NGO-s completed their opinion on the recommendations of the High Level Group on Media Freedom and Pluralism (Frieberga Committee) as part of a public consultation initiated by the European Commission.
